The materials that combine to make Madder socks are hugely important. Together, they are the foundation for everything we do. The details might be a little sock-nerd boring, but be assured we have tried and tested everything there is to make the socks we love. We hope you love them too.

Cotton
The highest quality Egyptian long staple cotton. Sourced from the most respected Italian mill. This yarn is both soft and strong, breathes well in the warmer months and is soft and warm when the weather cools.

Nylon
Quality nylon brings incredible durability. All Madder socks have toes and heels reinforced with nylon for longer sock life. An extended and useful lifespan is the best way to reduce the environmental impact of everything we wear. No fast fashion here.

Elastane
A little high quality elastane brings the magic. Allowing your socks to fit snugly on your feet all day. Wash and it resets, ready for more.

All Madder designs are our own. No re-branded polka-dots. Hundreds of designs start to form a collection. Only a chosen few make it through to production. Many hours are spent staring at cotton swatches. Samples are produced and modified. All to make the final sock “right”.

Looking after your socks is easy. With a little extra care you can extend the life and get the best performance.

Machine wash inside out - maximum 40 degrees C. The socks will shrink a little with the first wash, but most importantly will stretch back to normal size when worn. This is the magic of elastane, providing perfect fit for all foot shapes.

Socks are fine to go into the dryer at a low heat. However, if you can avoid the dryer, this will give the sock fibres an easier and longer life.

Fabric softener is also fine. We find no softener is better for maintaining the natural absorbency and breathing properties of the cotton. Having said that - experiment, do what works best for you. Either way, softener will not harm the sock fibres.

Free standard shipping is provided for all Australian deliveries of 3 or more pairs of socks and all International deliveries of 4 or more pairs of socks.

For all other orders, standard shipping is charged at a flat rate of $13 (AUD) for Australian deliveries, and $15 (AUD) for International deliveries.

Flat rate international express shipping is available to New Zealand for $33 (AUD), and Rest of the World for $45 (AUD).

Free standard shipping is provided for all Australian deliveries of 3 or more pairs of socks and all International deliveries of 4 or more pairs of socks.

We want you wearing Madder socks as soon as possible. All orders will be packed and dispatched within one business day of your order being placed.

We want your socks arriving looking their best. All socks will be sent enclosed in a tough Madder mailer, as well as each pair being in their own clear bag.

If your product is received damaged in the post, please notify us immediately, retaining the product and packing and we will contact the shipping provider who will be responsible for addressing and compensating the claim. Do not return the damaged product to Madder. Notify us immediately and we will advise on the appropriate course of action before arranging a replacement.

We want to bring you socks you love, so if for any reason you're not happy with your purchase, we'll put it right.

For returns, please contact us at support@maddersocks.com within 10 days of its arrival and tell us what the problem is.


Returned socks must be unworn. For hygiene reasons worn socks cannot be returned.


Products must be returned unused and in the state in which they were sent. Please check that your item(s) is in good condition before use.

Refunds will be processed upon satisfactory receipt of the returned goods. We will refund your payment same day minus the costs of initial shipping and packing charges.
